Dig for Charity Seeds
One of our young Hagg Lane Allotment gardeners is raising money for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, Registered Charity No.1039885, by selling custom made ‘Dig for Charity’ seed packets. Each packet contains 5 different types of vegetable seed,(see below), in labelled foil sachets for ONLY £2.50 . We now have them in stock and available to buy from the hut.

Japanese Onions & Autumn Planting Garlic Have Arrived!
All the above will be available for collection from Sunday 29th August 2010 9.30am.
As from November 2010 we will be taking orders for potatoes, and spring planted onions, which should arrive late January 2011.

Surplus Produce Available
We have surplus produce which can be yours for a small donation to society funds. Currently available are runner beans, beetroot, cabbage, lettuce, onions, cucumber, tomatoes, courgette, potatoes, raspberries, spinich, Rhubarb etc.
Produce is fresh as it is harvested as and when required!

Volunteers Wanted
Are you are feeling frustrated at not having an allotment on Hagg Lane? Why not help cultivate a small area of the Allotment Societies plot and meet fellow allotmenteers?
We are looking for committed volunteers who can spare an hour or so each weekend between 9.30am and 12.30pm. If interested please contact the hut. Free tea & coffee for all involved and a share of the produce!

Surplus Plant Sale Weekend (9.30am - 1.00pm Sat 22nd & Sun 23rd May 2010)
We are holding a large surplus plant sale over the above weekend. Plants will be available for a small donation, and any proceeds raised will go towards the continuing hut renovation project.
The following list contains a selection of the fruit & vegatables plants which will be available:- Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Melons, Peppers, Chilli Peppers, Courgettes, Pumpkins, Butternut/Squashes, Lettuce, Runner Beans, Peas, Broad Beans, French Beans, Leeks, Cabbage, Kale,Sprouts, Cauliflower, Parsnip, Beetroot, Spinach, Fennel, Jerusalem Artichoke, Strawberry plants. Flowers include :-Lupins, Sweet Peas, Zinnia, Cosmos, Fuschia, Rudbeckia, Sunflowers etc. Rhubarb will also be available.
Should members wish to donate further surplus plants this would be most appreciated.
Please arrive early to pick up a bargain!

Waiting List - Hagg Lane
We currently have a waiting list of 79 people for one of our 163 plots. The person at the top of the waiting list has been wanting a plot since June 2008, according to figures published as at 1st March 2010.

Skip
We have arranged a free skip which will be available to all members from 7.00am on Monday 23rd March 2010 until lunchtime. It will be located next to the society hut. Any rubbish should be placed next to the green container from Saturday 21st March 2010 only. (We had hoped to place it elsewhere on site but cannot due to access problems)

I am removing a load of pebbles from my garden to expand my borders for planting.
They range from approx 1-3cm in length, in various colours
Not sure about the weight but approx seven large terracotta pots and two large boxes full.
