Arson update

We would like to thank everyone who helped fill the skip with debris and helped make the building secure earlier today. What a fantastic effort. We are also very touched by the over 50 e-mails we have received offering your support (far too many to reply to just yet!).

We are meeting at around 9.30am in the morning to assess what needs to be done next.

Arson Attack 14.08.2014

Unfortunately the allotment hut suffered an arson attack last night at around 11.00pm.  There is considerable damage to both the building and stock.  The hut volunteers are on site currently but it is going to take a long time to clear up and we really need some help.  If you are able to help either today or tomorrow morning, please turn up to lend a hand.  It is quite a depressing experience for the hut volunteers to turn up and see so much damage, so if you are able to help out this would be greatly appreciated.   As things stand we shall be closed until further notice.

There have also been further individual plot break-ins last night, presumably by the same group of people.  We have informed some tenants we know to have been entered but it would be worth checking to see whether your allotment has also been affected.  If so, please inform the police. Each allotment has to receive its own crime reference number.
