About Us

We are a friendly non-profit making society which is run, by unpaid volunteers, for the benefit of all our members. We aim to provide help, advice and competitive products to members.
Formed in around 1931, we hope to improve the quality of allotments, for the benefit of the local community throughout the whole district.

We operate an allotment shop which is open :-
Currently every Sunday 10am-12noon.
Anyone over 18 years of age is eligible to join and new members are always welcome.
Annual membership Adults £3.00 Concessions £2.00 (due 1st January each year)

Has anyone got any surplus plants?

The allotment society is trying to raise funds in order to renovate the hut/shop further. If you have any surplus plants, which we could ask a donation for, this would be greatly appreciated.

Waiting List - Hagg Lane

We currently have a waiting list of 79 people for one of our 163 plots. The person at the top of the waiting list has been wanting a plot since June 2008, according to figures published as at 1st March 2010.

Sheffield has 3,335 allotment plots, of which 234 are vacant, with 2,289 people on the waiting list at present.

Skip

We have arranged a free skip which will be available to all members from 7.00am on Monday 23rd March 2010 until lunchtime. It will be located next to the society hut. Any rubbish should be placed next to the green container from Saturday 21st March 2010 only. (We had hoped to place it elsewhere on site but cannot due to access problems)
Strictly no gas bottles, asbestos, tyres,oil,TV/computer monitors or burnable waste etc. OR THE SKIP WILL NOT BE TAKEN

Load of pebbles, NOW TAKEN

I am removing a load of pebbles from my garden to expand my borders for planting.
They range from approx 1-3cm in length, in various colours
Not sure about the weight but approx seven large terracotta pots and two large boxes full.
Available now to collect from Hillsborough. You will need to bring your own containers for transportation.
