About Us

We are a friendly non-profit making society which is run, by unpaid volunteers, for the benefit of all our members. We aim to provide help, advice and competitive products to members.
Formed in around 1931, we hope to improve the quality of allotments, for the benefit of the local community throughout the whole district.

We operate an allotment shop which is open :-
Currently every Sunday 10am-12noon.
Anyone over 18 years of age is eligible to join and new members are always welcome.
Annual membership Adults £3.00 Concessions £2.00 (due 1st January each year)

2014 Plant Sales

We are pleased to announce the dates of our annual "bring and buy" plant sales to raise funds towards our long term plans to build a new allotment community hut. They will take place between 9.30am and 2.30pm on Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th May and again on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th May 2014 and we do hope you will come and support us. We hope to have a large selection of vegetable, fruit, herbs and bedding plants available. We will again have tea, coffee and a selection of homemade cakes available.

Mobile Garden Tool Sharpening Event - Sun 27th April 9.30am to 12.30pm

Next Sunday we have been approached by Dan McCready to host a "while you wait" Garden Tool Sharpening event outside the hut.  This is a great opportunity to get back into use much loved, old or second-hand tools.  Should you be interested prices and services are detailed below:-

Blade removal, sharpening, cleaning, oiling & resetting:-
Lawnmowers £15.00

Sharpening, oiling & resetting (where applicable):-
Shears, Pruners/Loppers, Axes/Choppers £5.00
Spades or Shovels £4.00
Hoes £3.00
Chisels £1.50-£2.50
Secateurs £2.00
Knives & Scissors £1-£2.00

There will also be tea, coffee and cake available while you wait for a small donation to society funds.

Bring & Buy Plant Sales 2014

We are pleased to announce the dates of our annual "bring and buy" fundraising plant sales towards our plans for a new allotment community hut. They will take place between 9.30am and 2.30pm on Saturday 3th & Sunday 4th May 2014 and again on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th May 2014.

We will again have a large selection of fruit, vegetable, herb and bedding plants available along with tea, coffee and selection of homemade cakes. We would really appreciate donations of any surplus plants you may have or offers to volunteer on the day.
