About Us

We are a friendly non-profit making society which is run, by unpaid volunteers, for the benefit of all our members. We aim to provide help, advice and competitive products to members.
Formed in around 1931, we hope to improve the quality of allotments, for the benefit of the local community throughout the whole district.

We operate an allotment shop which is open :-
Currently every Sunday 10am-12noon.
Anyone over 18 years of age is eligible to join and new members are always welcome.
Annual membership Adults £3.00 Concessions £2.00 (due 1st January each year)

Mobile Garden Tool Sharpening Event - Sun 27th April 9.30am to 12.30pm

Next Sunday we have been approached by Dan McCready to host a "while you wait" Garden Tool Sharpening event outside the hut.  This is a great opportunity to get back into use much loved, old or second-hand tools.  Should you be interested prices and services are detailed below:-

Blade removal, sharpening, cleaning, oiling & resetting:-
Lawnmowers £15.00

Sharpening, oiling & resetting (where applicable):-
Shears, Pruners/Loppers, Axes/Choppers £5.00
Spades or Shovels £4.00
Hoes £3.00
Chisels £1.50-£2.50
Secateurs £2.00
Knives & Scissors £1-£2.00

There will also be tea, coffee and cake available while you wait for a small donation to society funds.
